The purpose of our church family ministry is to provide opportunities for our diverse church family to connect with one another and enjoy Christian fellowship in a safe, supportive environment. Church members and friends of all ages are encouraged to join the fun!
Church Family Wednesday Night Fellowship Meals
Take a break from cooking and enjoy an evening of inter-generational fun and fellowship every second Wednesday of each month at 6:15, prior to Chancel Choir Practice, in our Church CAC. Come connect with your church family while having a savory and tasty meal!

Annual Family Fall Festival
The Church’s Annual Fall Festival is always a good time for families to come together. It’s held in Late October each year in the church’s CAC building. Children come in costume to play various carnival-style games, jump in bounce houses, collect candy treats, and partake in a hot dog supper. The Fall Festival is also open to the community and church members are encouraged to invite another outside of the church to attend.

Operation Christmas Child: Our Goal is 52! Why 52? There’s a little more to that number than you might think! This year, Central Methodist Church has set a goal of filling 52 Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes—inspired by the story of the five loaves and two fish. The cost of each shoebox is $30. You can donate online here or write a check to Central Methodist Church, and we will build the box for you. If you have any questions, please contact the church office at 704-739-2471.
The Methodist Men Soup Sale will be held on Saturday, November 7. Tickets are now available for purchase and due today—see any Methodist Men member to get yours!
Mary’s Breakfast Bunch will meet a week early because of Thanksgiving on Wednesday, November 18 at 9:00 pm at Linwood restaurant.
Please join us for our November Family Fellowship Night on Wednesday, November 11, at 6:15 p.m. The Methodist Women will be hosting a special Thanksgiving meal, and everyone is invited! A donation of $7 per plate is suggested. Please RSVP by Monday, November 2, so we can be sure to have plenty of food for everyone. We look forward to sharing a wonderful evening of food, fellowship, and thanksgiving with you!
There will be a Worship Committee Meeting on Tuesday, November 10 at 6:00 pm in the small conference room.
There will not be a November Trustees or Finance meeting. The Administrative Council will meet on Monday, November 9 at 7:00 pm.
Our Church Charge Conference will be held on Sunday, Nov 8, 2026 at Keistler’s Chapel in Rutherfordton at 3:00 pm.
The Community Kitchen will have Special Thanksgiving Hours on November 26 from 12pm to 1:30pm. We are in need of Thanksgiving sides: stuffing, instant gravy, cranberry sauce, and yams. Please bring your donations to the CAC hallway to put in the collection bin. Thanks for your support.
We are excited to announce that Kerry Wood will be our new pastor beginning on November 1. We will have a special welcome catered by Cracker Barrel breakfast for him and his wife, Deborah, at 8:30 am on his first Sunday in the pulpit. Please RSVP by 10/29/26 to make sure we have enough for everyone! We hope you can join us to welcome them to Central.

In this familiar story, a young boy offered Jesus what he had: five loaves and two fish. It may not have seemed like much compared to the enormous need before them, but when placed in Jesus’ hands, that small offering became enough to bless thousands. That’s the spirit behind our goal of 5 + 2 = 52! Each shoebox may seem like a small gift, but when we come together and give what we can, God can use those gifts in ways far greater than we can imagine. Each box is an opportunity to share joy, love, and the message of Jesus with a child somewhere in the world. Mark your calendars! Operation Christmas Child Collection Week is November 16–22, but we ask that all shoeboxes be brought to the church by Sunday, November 8, so we have time to prepare and pack everything for collection.
